In case you’re looking for a good guidebook for Europe that covers all of the must-sees, this book is a great resource. A friend got this for me for Christmas (thanks Ames!), and it’s been really helpful. Basically, it covers what to do in 36 hours (a weekend) in many of the major cities across Europe.
London is, of course, in the book several times, and because of that, a few weekends ago I found myself at Evensong, a choral service at Westminster Abbey. The boys choir basically sings the entire church service. There were 2 short readings, and the rest was pretty much all music. For a non church-going, but music loving girl such as myself, it was really enjoyable. And the best part – it’s free! I went on a Saturday at 3pm, but I believe it’s held at various other times during the week. Something to definitely check out if you find yourself in London.
